Courage
Courage comes from deep inside to chase away the fear
Courage helps us hold on tight to everything that’s here
The trembling that I feel inside, the thumping of my heart
The shaky thoughts that cloud my sight
The many time I cannot fight
The pictures passing covered darkness
My inner pain a desert starkness
I’m reaching out to find my God, to ask him please to hold my heart
Body aching, head is breaking, please don’t fall apart
Exhaustion overcomes me until I cannot move
Tears will flow cause all I know has left a broken heart
It’s pieces scattered on the ground exposed for all to see
Please God I pray to you, help me let it be
Please help me feel like one again
Please help me reach beyond the pain
Please give me courage I so lack
I want to have the real me back
I’m praying this with all my soul
The journey to forever whole
